A New Zealand Visitor Visa allows foreign nationals to enter New Zealand temporarily for tourism, family visits, or short-term study. Depending on your circumstances, you can stay up to 6 or 9 months. You cannot work while on this visa, but you may study for up to 3 months.

To apply for a New Zealand Visitor Visa, you must:
Have plans to leave New Zealand at the end of your stay.
Have sufficient funds to cover your living costs or an acceptable sponsor.
Not intend to work in New Zealand (unless working remotely for an overseas company).
Meet all other visa requirements set by Immigration New Zealand (INZ).
A multiple-entry visa allows multiple visits during its validity period.
Stay for up to 6 months in any 12-month period.
Re-enter New Zealand as many times as you want while the visa remains valid.
Must have been outside New Zealand for at least 9 months in the 18 months before applying.
Example:
If your final intended departure date is 1 December 2024, your 12-month period starts from 1 December 2023.
A single-entry visa allows one entry into New Zealand.
Suitable if you plan to stay longer than 6 months or extend your current stay.
Stay for up to 9 months in an 18-month period.
Example:
If your last planned day in New Zealand is 1 December 2024, your 18-month period starts on 1 June 2023.
Applicants holding a Pacific Islands Forum Country passport may qualify for a 24-month multiple-entry Visitor Visa.

Passport validity.
Meeting all Visitor Visa requirements.
When applying, ensure all documents are clear, accurate, and translated into English if required.
You will need:
Copy of your passport or certificate of identity (valid for at least 3 months beyond your departure).
1 passport photo (online application) or 2 photos (paper application).
Police certificates, if requested.
Medical evidence, such as a chest X-ray or medical examination, if required.
Proof of financial means, such as bank statements or sponsorship.
Evidence of travel plans showing genuine visitor intent.
Proof of onward travel or return ticket.
Relationship documents for partner or dependent children included in the application.
Additional Dependants Form (INZ 1205), if applicable.
Sponsorship Form for Temporary Entry (INZ 1025), if sponsored.
Sponsor’s Sharing ID (for online applications).
